VCM / AUTOMATION GUIDANCE

Trading Bot Development

Start with the trading process you want to automate. A useful development brief describes the decisions the software must make, the circumstances in which it must stop, and how you will assess delivery.

Define the rules before the code

Describe your instruments, timeframes, entry and exit conditions, position limits and trading hours. Explain what should happen after rejected orders, disconnected feeds or a restart. A strategy that cannot be described consistently is difficult to test consistently.

Choose a deliverable you can evaluate

Ask whether you will receive an executable, source code, configuration files, installation instructions and test reports. Confirm the licence, broker dependencies and ownership terms in writing. VCM packages are proposed scopes; final feasibility and delivery must be agreed.

Agree acceptance and support

Use observable checks: signal timing, order size, maximum exposure, recovery after restart and logging. Acceptance of software behaviour is separate from achieving a profitable strategy. Specify the support term, changes included and cancellation conditions.

PREPARE YOUR ENQUIRY

Make the first conversation useful.

  • Which trading platform and broker do you use?
  • What are your exact entry, exit and risk rules?
  • Which installation and testing deliverables do you need?
